APC’s main office is located in Marina Del Rey, California, and is owned and managed by
Dr. Elena Balashova-Shamis, who serves as the Clinical Director.
Dr. Balashova-Shamis holds a PsyD and PhD in Clinical Psychology and Psychoanalysis. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and adults. She teaches at local universities including UCLA (Medical School, NPI, and Extension), New Center for Psychoanalysis (NCP), and Los Angeles Institute and Society for Psychoanalytic Studies (LAISPS).
APC is seeking to primarily expand its clinical services, however, APC has also started to serve attorneys and their clients that are eligible for mental health diversion. Mental health diversion allows defendants with a mental disorder that have been accused of committing specific crimes to receive treatment rather than go to jail or prison.
APC also works with the family law court and provides training to interested clinicians.
