MISSION AND VISION
Operating under our mission of serving God by serving those in need through programs that foster hope, dignity, and independence, Episcopal Community Services (ECS) inspires children, empowers adults and transforms communities by providing vital, high-quality social services that encourage healthy interdependence.

Every client is served regardless of ethnic background, culture, gender, age, sexual orientation or religious creed. ECS provides services that build a bridge to a brighter future. Our vision is a community where all are supported to reach their potential.

HISTORY
Originally founded in 1927 to provide social welfare programs for the poor, elderly, sick, and "those who might otherwise be forgotten", Episcopal Community Services (ECS) expanded its scope in 1954 to provide programs to address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of all San Diegans. ECS was incorporated in 1955 and obtained its first government contract with San Diego County to provide counseling and jobs for men released from prison. Today, ECS provides more than $29 million in health and human services in the areas of homelessness, mental health, poverty, addiction and early childhood education to nearly 7,000 clients in San Diego.
