TITLE: ANTICIPATED BOARD CERTIFIED ASSISTANT BEHAVIOR ANALYST

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, education, applied behavior analysis, or a related field.
  • Certification as a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
  • Required criminal history background and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal residence alien status.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations governing special education.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to effectively assess children's social capacity and plan educational programs.

REPORTS TO: Director of Special Services or Designee

JOB GOAL: To support the implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies within the school district by collaborating with teachers, administrators, and support staff to enhance student learning and behavioral outcomes. The BCaBA will assist in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans, provide training and coaching to staff, and collect and analyze data to ensure students receive effective, evidence-based behavioral support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) under BCBA supervision.
  • Collect and analyze behavioral data to track student progress.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
  • Provide 1:1 or small group behavioral support to students.
  • Implement ABA-based interventions and reinforcement strategies.
  • Train and coach teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff on behavior strategies.
  • Monitor BIP fidelity and adjust strategies as needed.
  • Support social, emotional, and communication skill development.
  • Assist in crisis intervention and de-escalation.
  • Model and promote positive behavior supports in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education teams, and related services.
  • Provide input on IEP behavior goals and supports.
  • Communicate behavior strategies and progress with parents/caregivers.
  • Maintain detailed records of student behavior and interventions.
  • Support the creation of a structured, behaviorally supportive classroom.
  • Assist in developing and implementing positive reinforcement systems.
  • Participate in team meetings to review student progress and needs.
  • Follow BACB ethical guidelines and school district policies.
  • Ensure confidentiality and professionalism in all student interactions.
  • Receive supervision from a BCBA and comply with BACB standards.
  • Completes on-going monitoring and evaluation of all behavioral objectives.
  • Designs and implements appropriate function driven replacement skills trainings.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: In accordance with DEA contract Article VI, the work year shall be ten-month contract. Starting salary to be negotiated by the Board of Education. Salary guide in accordance with DEA contract to be utilized thereafter.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
