Addictions Therapist
What is Expected in this ROLE
- Provide drug and alcohol treatment, case management services to individuals presenting with an addiction and/or co-occurring disorder.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to clients.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychotherapy.
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and strategies for managing mental health conditions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress through data collection and outcome measures.
- Provide crisis intervention and support, as needed.
- Stay up to date on current research and best practices in the field of behavioral health.
What is Expected of YOU
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Addictions Counseling, Psychology, or related field from an accredited college or university.
- 2 years of paid-related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid license or certification as a therapist (e.g., LPC, LMFT, LCSW)
- Must have excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and overall computer skills and be able to use Electronic Medical Records.
- Knowledge of Manage Care.
- Experience working with individuals with mental health disorders, trauma, or substance abuse.
- Knowledge of diagnostic evaluation and assessment tools (e.g., DSM-5, ICD-10)
- Proficiency in conducting individual and group counseling sessions.
