Crisis Intervention Specialist

3; 12 hour shifts/week: two weekdays & one weekend/week

Day Shift: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM

(Flexibility to work nights on as-needed basis, preferred)

Compensation

$23/day shift during the week; $28/day shift during the day per hour weekends

NYAP is participating agency in the Great Minds Fellowship and Great Minds Workforce Commitment Incentive Programs.

National Youth Advocate Program is partnering with Franklin County Children's Services to provide mental and behavioral health care and crisis stabilization to those adolescents, youth and children who are displaced awaiting temporary or permanent home placements. In this role, the NYAP Crisis Intervention Specialist will work with high needs youth with the focus of stabilization 24/7/365. Based at the Columbus, OH FCCS offices and under the general supervision of the NYAP Clinical Supervisor or designee, you will be an integral contributor of an 8-member team providing services and oversite to displaced youth, providing on-site crisis intervention, de-escalation, and stabilization services for children who are experiencing or who are at risk for experiencing a behavioral health crisis.

Responsibilities

The Crisis Intervention Specialist will perform duties including, but not limited to:

• Provide live crisis support for those at imminent risk or those in need of emotional support.

• Reassess safety and provide referrals for behavioral health and other needed services.

• Performs other duties as requested.

Minimum Qualifications

•A Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or comparable Human Services field from an accredited institution.

• 2 years of work experience working in direct service with youth and families in crisis is preferred.

• Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet and database programs.

Driving and Vehicle Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license
  • Reliable personal transportation
  • Good driving record
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
