We're seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team of professionals. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you'll be integral to our commitment to providing effective, evidence-based addiction treatment services.

Role Overview:
As a Substance Abuse Counselor at Novis Vita, you will have the rewarding opportunity to guide individuals in overcoming their substance abuse challenges and achieving sustainable recovery. Your experience in a behavioral health setting working with substance abuse and your qualifications will enable you to provide specialized care and support. As a substance abuse counselor, you will report directly to Novis Vita’s contracted Behavioral Health Professional.

Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history, mental health status, and treatment requirements.
Create personalized treatment plans that align with Arizona statutes and regulations.
Deliver individual counseling sessions using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
Facilitate group therapy sessions addressing various dimensions of substance abuse and recovery.
Monitor clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Collaborate with a diverse team of medical professionals, psychologists, and social workers to ensure holistic client care.
Stay updated on Arizona laws and regulations concerning substance abuse counseling.
Offer crisis intervention and support to clients in acute distress.
Provide education and support to clients' families, fostering understanding of addiction and recovery.
Adhere to strict confidentiality and ethical standards when interacting with clients and colleagues.
Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:
A Master's degree or bachelor’s in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field from an accredited institution is preferred.
Proven licensure from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners (AZBBHE) as a Licensed Associate Substance Abuse Counselor (LASAC) or higher (preferred but not mandatory).
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a behavioral health setting, focusing on substance abuse counseling within Arizona.
Expertise in various therapeutic modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, and dialectical behavior therapy.
Exceptional communication skills and the ability to thrive within a collaborative team environment.
Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a nonjudgmental approach in client interactions.
Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail for accurate record-keeping and documentation.
Capacity to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
