Employment Testing & Assessment Specialist (Organizational Assessment Research Analyst)

Have you completed a graduate core program in I/O Psychology, or an undergraduate core program in I/O Psychology and 1 year experience in job analysis & developing & validating assessments for the purposes of personnel selection; or equivalent?
If so, then this opportunity may be for you! The Ohio Department of Public Safety is hiring for an Employee Testing & Assessment Specialist to join the Human Resources Team in Columbus, OH. This position is full-time and will work in office 5-days a week.
In this position you will:
- Conduct job analyses
- Develop valid assessment tools (such as proficiency & ability tests, scored interviews, & work samples)
- Evaluate and perform statistical analyses of current assessments to ensure continued validity
- Conduct research to stay abreast of current assessment trends and best practices in I/O Psychology
- Evaluate and make recommendations for revisions to current assessments and processes

Under direction of the Workforce Administration Manager, develop & validate assessments necessary for selecting, evaluating, or developing personnel based on strategic alignment, workforce analysis, competency modeling, gap analysis, & leadership potential assessments:
- Develop valid assessments (i.e., proficiency tests, ability tests, scored interviews, work sample assessments, skill demonstration &/or evaluation of education, training & experience examinations to assess knowledge, skills & abilities required on the job);
- Independently conduct job analysis to develop testing & assessment materials utilizing the modified WRIPAC process;
- Draft scored interview questions & set question weighs;
- Perform statistical analyses as needed to evaluate testing &/or assessment data;
- Assist in developing agency personnel section policies & procedures;
- Collaborate with other agencies to improve assessment procedures;
- Make recommendations for revisions of assessments, assessment process, documentation, & records;
- Conduct research to identify alternate test procedures that may have less disparate impact.
Coordinate ODPS civil service &/or proficiency testing activities:
- Score tests; enter applicant data & test scores into testing databases; send results of tests to personnel officer, hiring manager, department liaison & applicant;
- Coordinate all civil service data (e.g., prepare test booklets, administer tests, score tests, report results to applicant; maintain veteran status (DD-214) information; rank orders applicants & maintains database of civil service status).
Provide guidance & training to ODPS Divisions (i.e., training & updates in use of testing instruments, job analysis process, scoring instruments, modifying & updating scoring keys & written instruments):
- Remain current on personnel selection & evaluation, organizational development, & other job-relevant issues;
- Review proposed legislation & advice regarding impact;
- Prepare reports & correspondence;
- Assist with data analysis, workforce plan, succession planning, etc.;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Completion of undergraduate core program in industrial/organizational psychology; 1 year experience in job analysis & developing & validating assessments for the purposes of personnel selection.
- Or completion of graduate core program in industrial/organizational psychology.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
