RN - Psychiatric Consult Service

Responsible for organizing and providing care to patients through the process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Delegates aspects of care to other nursing personnel based upon their licensure, preparation, and job descriptions. Contributes to the meeting of the mission and goals of the facility and Essentia, and meets the requirements of the Joint Commission if applicable and/or other federal, state, and local regulatory or accrediting agencies. Education Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• At least two years of inpatient behavioral health RN experience.

• Demonstrates an understanding of the significant connection between medical and psychological conditions and thus has an ability to view a patient in a holistic manner

• Possesses experience and effectiveness with de-escalation of acute crises and behavioral exacerbations.

• Possesses knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, interactions, and side effects.

• Current nursing licensure in Minnesota
  Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification or ability to become certified within 1 month from date of hire.

• Must have the ability to obtain CPI Certification within one year.
