Position: Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric
Schedule: 20 hours per week plus Call
Location: Nisqually Correctional Facility
Pay Rate: $110-$115/hr
How YOU can make an Impact:
Provide direct quality care to patients by monitoring, recording and evaluating psychiatric conditions
Facilitate therapeutic communication, conflict resolution and crisis intervention by redirecting negative behaviors and helping patients regain or improve coping abilities
Quickly respond to situations impacting safety and security to patient and staff, actualizing crisis prevention interventions to control de-escalate situations
Perform patient assessments to monitor expected response to medications and altering treatment plans
Prescribe, recommend, or discontinue drugs and treatments to treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement and the states Nurse Practice Act
Responsible for timely and accurate completion of medical records, including assessment, treatment plan, progress notes, outcome measures, and billing entries
Responsible for making independent decisions and following all MEDIKO policies, procedures, and protocols, federal and state regulations, standard practice, and in accordance with the Collaborative Practice Agreement
Serve as a liaison between DHS and Psychiatrist
Able to document and navigate corEMR independently
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
What we ask of YOU:
Masters or Doctorate Degree in Nursing with focus on Psychiatric nursing required
Three (3) years of experience as a Psychiatric provider
At least one (1) to two (2) years experience providing direct patient care to persons receiving treatment for psychiatric disorders
Must have a valid and unrestricted DEA and NPI number
Active state/commonwealth registered nursing licensure
Active CPR/BLS certificate required (American Heart Association/American Red Cross guideline approved)
Able to operate standard office equipment to include computer, copier, fax, and telephone, and standard medical facility equipment to include, but not limited to AED, EKG, blood pressure, oxygen, glucometer, pulse oximeter, and other medical equipment, as applicable
