Director Behavioral Health Program and Services

Location: Alternate locations may be considered. This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our PulsePoint locations.

The Director Behavioral Health Program and Services is responsible for shaping the clinical vision, implementation and day to day operational oversite for a 24/7 clinical call center for behavioral health direct care programs and services, such as Employee Assistance Programs, Utilization Management and Crisis Calls. Works in partnership with the Product and Strategy team to execute on the company's behavioral health clinical vision. Sets the stage for clinical design and implementation of a product strategy through innovative programs, such as peer support services, intellectual & developmental disabilities (IDD), and substance use disorder (SUD). Ensures that operational requirements are fulfilled and ensures adherence with state/federal health plan requirements, Medicare guidelines and health plan requirements. Additionally, the role is responsible for achieving key performance indicators for our associates and meeting essential metrics for our clients.

How you will make an impact:

  • Drives and assists in the design of strategic plans and management of enterprise-wide, large-scale clinical initiatives, pilots, and projects promoting quality care.

  • Directs and oversees innovation initiatives, data analysis activities, and evaluation strategies for clinical programs including, but not limited to, pilot projects, grant-funded research projects, and publication endeavors.

  • Maintains knowledge of innovative clinical best practices and applies creative solutions across different markets.

  • Build alliances across the business and clinical leadership teams to ensure a collaborative, efficient and viable operating model.

  • Innovates and implements new or revised models for clinical strategy functions in response to evolving trends in healthcare delivery and/or emerging models of care.

  • Supports cost management projects through analysis of medical expense to determine savings for both proposed and implemented initiatives.

  • Works to create evidence-based solutions for substance products and technologies.

  • Hires, trains, coaches, counsels, and evaluates performance of direct reports.

Minimum Requirements:

Requires MS in a behavioral health field (i.e. social work, counseling) and minimum of 10 years of experience in behavioral health setting, either provider or payer; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Current unrestricted Independent Clinical or Behavioral Health licensure required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experience:

  • Leadership experience working in the managed care/healthcare insurance industry most notably in behavioral health strongly preferred.

  • Master's degree preferred.

  • Exceptional strategic thinking, decision-making, problem-solving skills, and adaptability highly preferred.

  • Experience interacting confidently with senior management and executive level stakeholders, as a subject matter expert and comfortable with influencing decision-making preferred.

  • Excellent written, oral, presentation and interpersonal communication skills with the proven ability to negotiate expectations between multiple parties strongly preferred.

  • Proficient of Microsoft Office products Excel, Teams, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Power BI strongly preferred.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $122,136 to $209,376
